i'm a photographer. and this is my blog.
The Clermont Hotel
My friend Benn and I decided to go shoot on Ponce today. Our original idea was to break into the old Kodak building but that place was sealed up tight. So we decided to try and see if they would let us inside the Clermont to take pictures (obviously they get asked a lot and it’s pretty much impossible to take pictures in there) but i guess they were in a good mood cause they let us roam on the first and 3rd floor for about 2 hours. pretty awesome stuff. Here’s a shot from it…

One of my attempts at a shadow portrait last quarter… well an extra from the shoot. man that room had the best lighting ever!

My final shadow portrait from this past quarter.
this shot was the thorn in my side all quarter. I shot it 4 times. I showed my teacher the day before my critique and with 26 hours left in the quarter he told me to reshoot. and so this was my final with less than 24 hours till i critiqued. the panel responded very positively saying “finally a real shadow!”
so needless to say i was happy with the results :)

ReverbNation

a couple of my shots (the black and white ones) of Gareth Asher ended up on ReverbNation :)

The video I did from the 48hr packaging challenge a couple weekends ago. I went and filmed in between my shifts at work. So most of this was shot after midnight haha

The Atlanta Egotist

An article about the 48 hour re-packaging challenge that Portfolio Center took part in this past weekend. link at the end to my photos :)

i’m very intrigued.

A preview from the Gareth Asher shoot tonight :) I’m gonna have a lot of fun editing this stuff, it’s just gonna be hard to edit it down!

Strum, Ruger & Co. Annual Report

A couple quarters ago a designer at school asked me to help her with an annual report projet for a class. She was doing the annual on Strum, Ruger & Co. which is a firearms manufacture. I shoot shotguns at my grandparents house every thanksgiving and have since before I can remember so I jumped on it. Well, the ADDY Awards (ATL) were tonight and we (Samantha Peek) and I recieved the bronze award for our annual report.

Pretty stinking excited right now :D

This was for my visual narrative class. we had a word scramble. my words: beautiful. dancing. pilot. (we had to put all three words into the picture somehow)
i think it turned out pretty good :)

Jerry sent out an email this morning asking our Environmental Portrait class to take a portrait like Albert Watson’s portrait of Jack Nicholson in the snow. So Mia graciously agreed to model for me and then we decided to switch some things around so it wasn’t a straight copy cat photo. So here’s my version….

Shot this photo this morning. It’s for my environmental portraiture class. The subject was only supposed to take up around 25% of the photo.
